Founding Software Engineer (Hayward)

Our client is building next-generation engineering and simulation software focused on interactive 3D visualization, geometry exploration, and real-time collaboration tools. They are seeking a Founding Full Stack Engineer to help build the core product and infrastructure powering the platform.This is a highly cross-functional role spanning frontend development, backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and real-time data pipelines. The ideal candidate enjoys working across the stack and building complex technical products from the ground up.ResponsibilitiesBuild responsive, intuitive user interfaces in React for engineering and design workflowsDevelop interactive 3D visualizations using Three.js to explore geometry, meshes, and simulation dataDesign and implement scalable backend APIs using Python and Node.jsArchitect and manage cloud infrastructure on AWSBuild and maintain data pipelines that efficiently process and move geometry and simulation dataImplement real-time collaboration and streaming systems using WebSocketsWrite tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to a clean, scalable codebaseRequirementsStrong experience with React and modern frontend developmentBackend development experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or DjangoExperience working with AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.)Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQLSolid computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and system designComfortable operating in fast-paced startup environments with broad ownershipNice to HaveExperience with Three.js, WebGL, Babylon.js, or other 3D graphics technologiesFamiliarity with computational geometry concepts such as meshes, surfaces, or CAD file formatsExperience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment workflowsKnowledge of WebSockets and real-time architecturesExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDKBackground in or interest in engineering, physics, simulation, or technical computingAbout Tangerine SearchTangerine Search is an equal opportunity agency that values diversity.
