Associate Electrical Engineer

This position requires onsite work at Tucson, AZ and an active Secret security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.Solidus is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with FPGA development or verification experience to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will take ownership of the entire development lifecycle-from initial proof of concept to production-quality releases. Working with industry-leading vendor families like Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi, you will write reliable VHDL code for high-impact applications including gigabit serial interfaces, DSP, and embedded processing. If you thrive on solving complex technical challenges and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems, we want you on our team!Day In The LifeDevelop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx, Altera,and MicrosemiDesigns are implemented using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro Optical (EO) DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing and processor interfacesWork with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, architect new parts, collaborative modeling of algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, and place and routeDesigns are verified against requirements using both directed test and constrained random methodologiesDesign support is expected from requirements definition through integration and testDesign documentation and configuration management are requiredDesign and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production Architect FPGA based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirementsDesign and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainabilityVerify designs utilizing self checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverage Help drive projects and execute to program schedules on time and budgetCreate complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guidesMay support internal and external technical reviewsOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications & ExperienceActive Secret ClearanceBachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)2 + years of relevant software engineering experienceDemonstrated experience coding in VHDL for digital logic designs Experience simulating digital designs using tools like ModelSim, Questa, or Vivado SimulatorHands-on experience using standard lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters) to test and debug hardwareCultural fit amongst a collaborative team environmentBenefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.What We Will BringSolidus offers you an exciting opportunity to tackle the nation's greatest challenges applying innovation and expertise to produce cutting-edge results that have a long-lasting impact.
