Machine Operator
Position Summary
Assists with the production by maintaining the operations of shears, brakes, drills, saws, and flamers while producing quality products in an efficient manner.
General Duties
Set up and operation of shears, brakes, saws, and flamers.
Performs regular first echelon machine maintenance and reports regular first echelon machine maintenance and reports probable machine malfunctions.
Responsible for seeing that functional supplies and parts are on hand to assure productive machine operation.
Responsible for first parts and periodic part inspection to assure part is made to print.
Utilize hand tools and precision measuring instruments for machine operations
Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards ie: Proper use of personal protective equipment, proper use of safety devices, as required, safe operation of all machinery, tools and equipment. Has the responsibility for their safety and safety of others.
Requirements
Manufacturing, fabrication, or machine operation experience is preferred
Knowledge of machine technology is a plus
Ability to compute basic mathematics
Ability to use a ruler is required
Must have demonstrated work ethic and work habits that would adhere to company policies
Must work well independently and in a team situation
Must be quality and safety oriented
Must have high attention to detail and a sense of urgency
Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and apply work instructions and procedures
Accurate problem identification and solving skills is preferred
Working Conditions
Manufacturing Environment:
Standing and walking for extended periods of time
Wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects.
Varying temperatures, depending upon season and machining
