Children's Mental Health Consultant

We achieve this through our diverse services that support families, foster independence and inspire personal choice.We are seeking a Children's Mental Health Consultant to provide consultation, training and direct support to promote the social-emotional well-being of children 0-5.Responsibilities include:●Consultation and support: Provide on-site and virtual consultation; Observe children to identify needs; Collaborate to design and implement strategies.●Training and capacity building: Deliver professional development workshops and training on trauma-informed care, behavioral management and social-emotional development.●Family Engagement: Build trusting relationships with parents and caregivers to understand and support children’s mental health needs.●Program development and collaboration: Collaborate with Program Directors and community partners to support mental health policies and practices.●Documentation and compliance: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of consultation activities, assessments and recommendations; Ensure compliance and confidentiality standards, mandated reporter guidelines, ethical practice requirements, funding sources and contracts.Requirements: ●Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Child Development or related field. ●Licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or Psychologist in CA is highly preferred. ● At least 1-2 years of experience working with children 0-5 and their families in a mental health or early childhood setting. ●Experience in trauma-informed care, family systems and supporting children impacted by poverty, adversity and stress. ●Familiarity with early childhood education systems (e.g., Head Start, state preschool programs). ●Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and experience working with under-resourced, multicultural communities. ●Reliable transportation required. ●Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
