Seasonal Vegetation Maintenance Technician
Essential Job FunctionsConfers with department management, other members of staff, and user organizations to develop long range plans and strategies; establishes cost estimates and seeks approval and funding from appropriate sources as directed.Provides technical support to management and County Officials regarding functional area(s) of responsibility; evaluates real and potential compliance and related regulatory standards concerns and develops and implements corrective measures accordingly.Prepares technical specifications and assists management in awards of construction contracts and assignment of supervisory responsibilityPrepares contract language documents for use in bids and contracting for construction or maintenance workMonitors status of ongoing contracted projects by controlling costs, managing risks, issuing change order directives, and resolving claims.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, or related fieldFive years progressively knowledgeable and skilled experience in business management, budget administration (experience in environmental planning, studies, and investigations is highly preferred) including experience in major contracts administrationAn equivalent combination of education, training and experienceSupplemental InformationPhysical Requirements: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hand and fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Status: Exempt, Key ManagerialEligible for health and dental coverage, retirement plan, life insurance, long term disability insurance, deferred compensation, ten paid holidays per year, annual leave accrual after 6 months of employment, and thirteen days sick leave per year.*Benefits for Job Share and Temporary positions vary01Education: Mark the highest level you have completed.Some High SchoolHigh School Graduate or GEDCollege, 2 years or Associate degreeMore than 2 years college, no degree4 year college degreeAdvanced degree02How many years experience do you have in business management and budget administration, including experience in major contracts administration?No experienceLess than 3 years experience3 to 5 years experience5 or more experience03Do you have experience in environmental planning, studies, and investigations?YesNo04Please describe your experience in developing environmental studies, programs and procedures.
