Are you passionate about delivering therapy to help students overcome challenges and thrive in their learning environment?ABOUT THE ROLESeneca's Non-Public Schools are hiring for a Bilingual Classroom Therapist to guide 5-12th graders to success at James Baldwin Academy in San Leandro, CA. Bilingual Classroom Therapists are integrated into the school community where they play a key role in supporting students' social emotional growth and provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, case-management services and conduct mental health assessments. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with caregivers, teachers, counselors, and school leadership to ensure and celebrate the success of youth and families in a school setting.ABOUT JAMES BALDWIN ACADEMYJames Baldwin Academy (JBA) is a small, WASC-accredited school in the San Leandro hills, serving students in grades 5-12 with unique mental health and learning needs. We are committed to building a diverse staff, and our programs actively engage in conversations and training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to promote equity and justice for the youth and families we serve.RESPONSIBILITIESWork collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadershipProvide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management for a caseload of school-referred studentsEngage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needsProvide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkageProvide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approachComplete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billingCommunicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student, including other Seneca programs or outside agenciesUtilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response trainingThis may include intervening with the students' behavioral program through physical managementQUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, psychology or related licensure-eligible fieldRegistered or eligible to register with the California BBS requiredBilingual in Spanish /English requiredAt least 21 years of ageReliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting locationsTB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirementsExperience working with youth in a mental health or educational setting is strongly preferredSCHEDULESchool based schedule:Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM - 5 PM (ability to work occasional flexible schedule when school needs vary)5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break daysBENEFITSStarting at $79,763 - $93,763 per yearActual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications$2000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees!Salary increases each year$4000 salary increase upon licensureComprehensive employee benefits package:Medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, acupuncture, and fertility coverageShort and long-term disability, family leave, and life insurancePartially paid premiums for dependants403b retirement planEmployer-Paid Assistance Plan5 weeks of flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break daysSeneca is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness certified employerRelocation assistance may be available (added for clinicians, teachers, and specialists receive them if they are relocating over 100 miles)Abundant promotional opportunities across California and WashingtonSpecialized training and development opportunitiesSeneca supports clinicians towards licensure and beyond:We provide individual and group supervision, regular clinical case conferences, and licensure and renewal courses led by field expertsExpenses such as outside trainings or licensure fees can be mitigated through your clinical training stipend
