Intermediate Cloud EngineerLocation: Colorado Springs, CO – Schriever Space Force BaseClearance Required: Active Secret ClearanceTravel Required: Up to 10%Position OverviewLaunchTech is seeking an Intermediate Cloud Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.In this role, you will engineer, manage, and support cloud infrastructure solutions while integrating cloud environments with enterprise IT systems. You will help design standardized, secure, and scalable services that enable mission systems to operate across cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments while ensuring reliability, performance, and operational readiness.What You’ll Be DoingThe Intermediate Cloud Engineer will:Engineer, manage, and support cloud infrastructure platforms and servicesSupport cloud infrastructure components including compute, networking, and storageWork with application workloads within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services environmentsIntegrate cloud infrastructure and networking environments with existing enterprise data center and corporate infrastructureUse Cameo or other Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to analyze requirements and support system design using industry modeling languages such as UML, SysML, AUTOSAR, DoDAF, MODAF, and UPDMValidate functionality early in development and automate the delivery of structured engineering productsPrototype, simulate, and execute design concepts for early validation of cloud architecturesDesign standardized and reusable services that enable development and mission customers to meet requirements for speed, resiliency, performance, repeatability, and securityEngineer, implement, and continuously improve reusable services delivered by the cloud services teamDevelop and maintain templates, images, and reusable artifacts that allow customers to consume standardized servicesEnsure all services and artifacts remain available, secure, and continuously improved throughout their lifecycleAddress service issues impacting development and mission customersSupport operational requests and communicate level of effort, task progress, and service status to cloud leadership teamsWhat You BringBasic RequirementsMust have 12 or more years of general (full-time) work experienceExperience may be reduced with completion of advanced educationMust have 6 or more years of directly related experience in cloud or on-premise infrastructure engineering and supportMust have 1 or more years of experience in a management or leadership roleMust have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)Must have an active DoD Secret Security ClearanceDesired RequirementsExperience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms such as AWS, Azure, SoftLayer, or OpenStackExperience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environmentsUnderstanding of Mission Landing Zones (MLZ)Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)Experience with configuration management and automation toolsFamiliarity with source control platforms such as GitHub or BitbucketBasic understanding of containerization and container orchestration platforms including Docker, rkt, Mesos, or KubernetesExperience managing enterprise compute, networking, and storage platformsExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CameoExperience managing enterprise application platforms including application runtimes, integration middleware, and relational databasesPossession of a current IASE Level II certificationWhy LaunchTech?LaunchTech is built on a single standard: Excellence, Period.Join a mission-focused engineering team delivering innovative cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems engineering solutions for national defense programs.We offer competitive benefits, including:Medical, Dental, and Vision401(k) with company matchPaid Time Off (PTO)Professional development opportunitiesAnd moreReady to Join the LaunchTech Crew?LaunchTech is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
