Job Description
CNC Programmer Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC machining programs for precision manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, WorkNC, or VISI to create efficient machining strategies, improve productivity, and ensure the production of high-quality components. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support new and existing production programs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining centers.Develop toolpaths using Mastercam, WorkNC, VISI, or similar CAD/CAM software.Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.Collaborate with machinists and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and improve process efficiency.Conduct program prove-outs and first-run validations on the shop floor.Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality and tool life requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.Maintain program documentation, setup sheets, tooling lists, and process instructions.Assist with fixture design and manufacturing process development when required.Investigate and resolve production issues related to programming, tooling, or machine performance.Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety procedures.Qualifications RequiredHigh school diploma or GED required; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.3+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency with at least one CAD/CAM software package:- MastercamWorkNCVISIAbility to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.Experience with CNC milling and/or turning operations.Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, cutting parameters, and workholding techniques.Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak, or similar.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.PreferredExperience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining.Tool and die, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or precision manufacturing experience.Fixture design experience.CAD software experience (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo, etc.).Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility.Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to machine noise, coolants, and metal chips.BenefitsCompetitive salaryMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off and Paid HolidaysProfessional Development OpportunitiesCareer Growth within a Stable Manufacturing EnvironmentJob Title: CNC ProgrammerDepartment: Manufacturing EngineeringEmployment Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
