Local Ankeny company is looking for a DevOps Engineer that is responsible for supporting and maintaining DevOps infrastructure and backend shared services that enable efficient software development and deployment across business units. This role will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, assist in managing application infrastructure, support the Git environment, and help develop and maintain core backend services. Apply today!Work Model:On-SiteWhat You Will Do:Develops and maintains backend shared services (user management, authentication, notifications, and file handling) using Java and Spring BootBuilds and supports CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate builds, testing, security scans, and deployments across multiple applicationsAdministers a self-hosted GitLab environment, including system upkeep, repository organization, and user access managementIntegrates security best practices into development workflows through automated testing, vulnerability management, compliance checks, and threat detectionImplements and manages version-controlled infrastructure and deployment processesProduces and maintains documentation for DevOps workflows, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guidesWhat You Will Need to Be Successful:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience2-4 years of background in DevOps, software development, or a similar technical rolePractical knowledge of Java and/or Spring Boot, along with Bash, Linux shell scripting, and SQLExposure to TypeScript and C# considered an assetExperience working with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD or comparable toolsBenefits Overview:Health, dental, and vision insurance401kPTOESOP Interested and qualified candidates can contact Brian Valenta at (515) 225-7000 or email bvalenta@thepalmergroup.com.
