Evening CustodianJOB TITLE: CustodianREPORTS TO: Director of FacilitiesSummary DescriptionTo provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.Job ResponsibilitiesBuildingFurther, under general supervision, the custodian is responsible for maintaining the areas allocated to him/her, including classrooms and other areas, to the prescribed standard of cleanliness according to identified procedures. His/Her removes hazards and dangerous conditions, which could result in accidents and fire and prevent needless waste or careless use of supplies, equipment, or other utilities.Student SupportTo provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.Essential FunctionsQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREDPerforms daily and scheduled housekeeping duties as required.Assists organizations using school facilities.Makes minor repairs to equipment as required.Conducts other duties including or as needed/required:Snow removalGrass cuttingCleaning of glass windows, doors, and display areas (inside/out)Replace light bulbs as requiredCleaning of toilets, sinks, urinals and water fountainsGeneral dustingVacuuming and carpet cleaningFloor cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffingReplacement of ceiling titlesAssisting in the delivery of supplies and unloading of deliversAssist in light constructionAssist maintenance employeesHandles related duties as requiredKeeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.Regulates hear, ventilation, and are conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.Check daily to ensure that all exit doorsKeep the grounds free from rubbishReport immediately to the principal any damage to school propertyKeeps an inventory of supplies, equipment and fuel on hand, and requisitions such needed replacement from the principal far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as will not hinder the custodian in his dutiesMoves furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities and as directed by the principalMay be required to perform other duties as qualified that benefit assigned building or NLCSExperienceStrong work ethicDesire to complete all tasks in quality workmanship like mannerDemonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
