CDL‑B Boom Truck Delivery Operator — Fire Protection Logistics

If you want your driving skills to make a real difference, you’ll feel at home here. A Day in This Role You’ll start by performing your daily truck inspection and reviewing the day’s route. Using maps or written directions, you’ll head out to customer shops and active construction sites to deliver finished goods needed for installation. On site, you’ll assess conditions, unload safely—often using a boom truck or other mounted equipment—and collect signatures before moving to the next stop. Back at the branch, you’ll help stage materials, ready crates and boxes, and load or unload pipe and other product from flatbed and box trailers. Throughout the day, you’ll complete driver logs, follow DOT and licensing rules, and pitch in with additional tasks as directed by the warehouse lead, fabrication manager, or branch operations manager. About the Work Load, secure, and drive company vehicles in accordance with all licensing and DOT regulations. Deliver finished goods to customer jobsites or shops to support their installation process. Use maps or written directions to reach destinations efficiently. Evaluate jobsite conditions to ensure safe positioning and unloading. Operate a boom crane or other truck‑mounted equipment as needed. Obtain valid signatures on all delivery documentation. Complete the required daily truck inspection and maintain driver logs. Be flexible for occasional night, weekend, or early‑morning deliveries. Lift and stage boxes of material into designated containers for shipment. Use available equipment to prepare crates and boxes for loading. Load and unload pipe and material from flatbed and box‑type trailers with available equipment. Follow all company policies and procedures. Handle additional assignments to meet company and customer needs as directed by the warehouse lead, fabrication manager, or branch operations manager. What You Bring CDL‑A or CDL‑B license, plus equipment certifications (Boom Truck & Crane Operator for the state of New Jersey). At least 6 months in a professional driving role. Ability to work in a fast‑moving, multitask environment for at least 1 year under time constraints. Basic keypad/keyboard proficiency. Experience with RF/barcoding technology is helpful. Solid arithmetic with whole numbers and decimals. Schedule & Expectations This position may include nights, weekends, or early mornings as delivery needs arise.
