Maintenance Technician / General Maintenance WorkerLocation: Richmond, VA / Southern Virginia SitesPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Technician supports the safe, reliable operation of utility‑scale solar facilities by performing routine civil, grounds, and site‑infrastructure maintenance. This role focuses on access roads, fencing, vegetation management, drainage systems, and general site upkeep across multiple solar sites in Southern Virginia.This is an outdoor, hands‑on role suited for individuals who enjoy physical work, problem‑solving, and maintaining large‑scale infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesSite infrastructure maintenance — Perform routine maintenance and repairs on access roads, drainage systems, foundations, and general site grounds.Vegetation management — Operate riding mowers and use string trimmers to maintain clear, safe access around equipment and roads.Civil inspections — Conduct regular visual inspections of civil components and report maintenance needs promptly.Fencing repair — Repair and maintain perimeter and interior fencing, including posts, wire, gates, and hardware.Landscaping and clearing — Perform tree trimming, brush clearing, and basic landscaping to support site safety and accessibility.Erosion and stormwater support — Assist with grading, erosion control, and stormwater management features.Tool and equipment operation — Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and efficiently.General site repairs — Support site improvement projects and repair tasks as assigned.Housekeeping — Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Communication — Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and site personnel.Safety compliance — Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and job hazard analyses.Outdoor field work — Work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.Travel across large sites — Travel between work areas on large utility‑scale solar sites as required.Occasional travel — Participate in occasional travel, including overnight stays, depending on project needs.Qualifications & Experience RequiredHigh School diploma or equivalentNew graduates with relevant vocational or technical training are welcomeMinimum 1 year of experience as a general technicianValid driver’s license (required for travel across large solar sites and between locations)Preferred (Not Required)OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationForklift experienceTree trimming or landscaping experienceExperience working on utility‑scale solar, construction, or civil maintenance projects
