Manual Machinist Trainee (1st Shift)

Job Summary: OPEX Corporation is currently seeking a full-time Manual Machinist Trainee to work on our 1st shift (M-F, 5:45a-2p) in our manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ. This individual will be in a two-year training program learning to assist with the setup and operation of manual and CNC lathes/milling machines. The ideal candidate would have an interest in learning a trade and basic knowledge of manual machining. Manual Machinist Job Responsibilities: Assist with the setup and operation of manual and CNC lathes and milling machines. Will work with a mentor(s) to learn how to perform the following duties: Operate a variety of CNC machines in a cell structure Properly load material into a machine Read blueprints and use precision measuring tools Setup and adjust jobs/fixtures Review blueprints, drawings, instructions to ensure accurate production Inspect parts using micrometer, gages and related inspection tools Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Skills: Commitment to learn a trade and advance your career Ability to follow verbal and written instruction Knowledge of CNC machining is desired, but not required Willingness to learn and ability to take direction Must be able to work individually and as apart of a team Must be dependable and reliable Physical/Work Environments Worker will be working in a machine shop setting Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds Worker must be able to stand throughout duration of their shift
