Math Tutor
Position: Children Math Teacher
Location: Flushing, Queens
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated mathematics teacher to guide our students through various levels of mathematics, fostering academic success. The ideal candidate is well-versed in classroom management, test prep, and competitive mathematics, with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. The role demands a professional with a commitment to fostering a challenging and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Instruction: Deliver effective, engaging, and professional math instruction for students ages 3 and up. (This may include students preparing for various exams such as the AMC or SAT.)
Student Assessment: Evaluate student abilities, strengths, and areas of improvement through regular assessments, fostering independence, confidence, and accountability.
Collaboration & Development: Work closely with colleagues on curriculum enhancement and instructional strategies, maintaining a growth mindset and working towards personal and professional development.
Parent & Student Engagement: Establish positive communication channels with students and parents, offering regular updates on progress and maintaining collaborative relationships.
Professional Conduct: Adhere to and support School policies, expectations, and community standards, participating in faculty meetings, retreats, conferences, and additional school events.
Supervision & Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, including supervision of students outside the classroom as required, such as during lunch, study hall, and field trips.
Administrative Duties: Complete required reports, assessments, and tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching Math
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Availability needed: MUST BE AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS OR WEEKDAY AFTERNOONS
