JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning and directing all Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering activities to the successful completion of projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing and coordinating the work of a skilled engineering staff, placing particular emphasis on developing new product lines and expanding existing product lines to meet quality and sales objectives.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities to ensure timely delivery of products and features.
Provide technical guidance in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of the company’s products.
Confer with management and production to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Provide technical support to sales for order specification review and order realization.
Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Direct, review, and approve product design and changes.
Recruit employees: assign, direct and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Oversee research and development initiatives.
Develop departmental budget and manage costs.
Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed.
Supervise day-to-day engineering functions.
Ensure adherence to company quality and safety policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
3 to 5 years engineering/research and development management experience.
Proven leadership experience.
Demonstrated knowledge/experience in product development.
Experience with PC based CNC controls.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use fingers and hands to manipulate small parts.
Excellent vision is required to perform job.
Required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
