Procurement Specialist

Job TitleDay-to-Day: Manages and maintains term contracts, including all related documentation. Coordinates with internal departments to gauge and evaluate vendor performance and assist with renewal terms and pricing. Assists in managing the Procurement Card Program. Conducts monthly statement audits, processes new cardholder requests, and trains new cardholders and supervisors to ensure proper adherence to the City of Tempe Procurement Card guidelines. Processes purchase orders to ensure purchases comply with contract terms and conditions. Identifies any corrective actions needed to resolve requisition errors, budget errors, or match exceptions. Assists with internal customer requests for modifications or cancellation of purchase orders. Supports Procurement Officer. Sources and procures goods and services. Collaborates with internal departments to draft the scope of work, questionnaire, and evaluation criteria. Collaborates with vendors, staff, departments, and other agencies to resolve issues and responds to questions regarding contract inquiries and public records requests. May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned Skills and Requirements Must Haves: 2-5 years of administrative procurement experience Associate's or vocational/technical school degree in Accounting, General Studies, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field. Knowledge of contract and procurement processes, vendor management, and solicitation/bidding procedures Project management and committee facilitation Negotiation, pricing and financial analysis skills Plusses: Public sector or federal government background Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M), Certified Professional in Supply Management (C.P.S.M.), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), or Certified Procurement Professional (CPP).
