Monitoring Tools Engineer (Contract)Location: Plano, Texas (Onsite)Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Monitoring Tools Engineer to support and enhance enterprise-wide monitoring platforms. This role focuses on improving operational readiness by implementing accurate thresholds, alerts, and dashboards. The position serves as a technical resource, ensuring issues are detected and diagnosed early to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and prevent production incidents.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and manage Dynatrace monitoring across a large portfolio of applications.Implement and manage Dynatrace Synthetic Monitoring.Implement and manage Splunk monitoring across a large portfolio of applications.Design, configure, and optimize monitoring events, alerts, dashboards, and thresholds.Partner with Production Support and Engineering teams to maximize the value of monitoring tools.Provide guidance to application teams on instrumentation and monitoring strategy.Lead demos, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums to drive adoption.Develop supporting documentation and training materials.Ensure monitoring supports effective incident management and operational processes.Required QualificationsExperience3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Dynatrace components.3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Splunk components.Experience with operational scripting and process improvement.Experience with both Unix and Windows operating systems.Experience supporting enterprise-scale, globally distributed environments.Background as a Systems Administrator, DBA, or Middleware Engineer is preferred.Technical SkillsStrong understanding of application architecture, databases, networking, and system interdependencies.Familiarity with IT operations processes such as ITIL.General knowledge of large-scale data sets, DNS and BIND, and IPsec VPNs and NAT.Knowledge of Windows Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, or vSphere PowerCLI.Key CompetenciesStrong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to influence, facilitate, and collaborate across teams.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Team-oriented and comfortable working in a multicultural, global environment.Compensation & BenefitsThe pay rate for this position is between $68.00/hour and $73.68/hour.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.J-18808-Ljbffr
