Position:Licensed Practical Nurse Position Type: Full Time - 10 months Location: Franklin High School Reports to:: Building Principal Salary: As per FEA ESP Contract This position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance General Description: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to work at Franklin High School. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with administering first aid to childrenAdminister medication in accordance with school policyPerform specific medical procedures as prescribed and outlined in the student's health care planConduct growth and development screenings as mandated by 105 CMR 200.000Confer with supervisor, site administrator, and the school nurse regarding student needs, policies, and proceduresSubstitute for the Van LPN, to ride van to and from school to provide medical monitoring of students, as neededMaintain recordsParticipate in educational programs designed to increase knowledge and enhance the quality of practical nursing care in the school settingUpholds professional standards, the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act and other state and local statutes and regulations applicable to school nursing practice; and adheres to district policiesKeeps current with any changes to applicable nursing practices and standardsPerform other related duties as assigned by the School Principal or School NurseQualifications:Hold a valid LPN License in the State of MassachusettsExperience working with children and youth is preferredAble to take initiative and work independentlyMust successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).We understand that our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideas-an exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.
