Mechanical Maintenance Technician II

We are seeking a versatile and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician II to join our team. This position involves performing a wide range of tasks related to HVAC, mechanical, fleet vehicle operations, electrical and dental equipment. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment and systems. Responsibilities Performs a variety of HVAC, Building Automation System (BAS) maintenance, Fleet vehicle operation, installation, and repair tasks, including complex installation and repair project. Maintain dental equipment in UNE Oral Health Center and Dental Hygiene clinic. This includes simulation and clinical chairs, equipment, and supporting infrastructure and machinery. Maintains an appropriate inventory of supplies and materials. Plan, supervise and assist with daily maintenance operations related to the mechanical, automotive fleet, and/or electrical systems. Coordinate project work with outside contractors and vendors and special projects. Assist Mechanical Services Lead with coordinating daily work assignments. Complete, understand and comply with initial and annual employee regulatory compliance and safety training as assigned. Complies with all occupational safety and health standards, rules and regulations. Reports all hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents immediately to supervisor. Primarily a Monday through Friday 1st shift job, but the ability to work evenings, weekends for winter storms, and an on-call rotation Performs other duties as required. Qualifications High school education, plus 5 years of relevant technical training and field experience. State of Maine Boiler Operator’s license, plumbing license and/or fuel oil and gas technician license. Or for Automotive, State of Maine Inspection and various ASE licensing. Broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning system installation, BAS maintenance and repair, as well as general plumbing and electrical systems Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical activities including crouching, kneeling, stooping, reaching, balancing, crawling, and climbing ladders as necessary to fulfill job duties.
