This role focuses on building end-to-end across a .NET backend and a modern web front end on Azure, helping modernize a legacy application while incorporating new AI-driven capabilities into the product.This is a senior, hands-on engineering role for someone deeply fluent in the Microsoft ecosystem — comfortable working across the full stack, contributing to legacy-to-modern rewrites, and collaborating closely with data and AI engineers to bring intelligent features to production. The ideal candidate operates independently, brings strong engineering judgment, and adds ideas proactively beyond ticket execution.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain full-stack features across the .NET backend and modern web front endDevelop and integrate REST / Web APIs and microservices on AzureModel and optimize relational data; ensure sound database design across SQL Server and Azure SQLContribute to the legacy-to-modern rewrite — refactor, re-architect, and migrate to current patternsOwn CI/CD and deployment through Azure DevOpsPartner with data and AI engineers on AI-enabled features across the productParticipate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussionsChampion engineering best practices and code quality standards across the teamTroubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvementsBasic QualificationsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teamsSelf-motivated, quick learner, and adaptable to new technologies and legacy systemsThrives in a team environment, actively contributes to collaboration, fostering a sense of communityExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to issue resolutionBrings ideas proactively — not just a ticket executor, but a contributor to the broader technical direction and AI initiatives of the teamStrong sense of accountability and ownership over deliverables and outcomesComfort operating in healthcare or other regulated data environments where security and compliance matterSelf-directed operator — able to hit the ground running with minimal rampTechnical RequirementsSenior-level, hands-on experience with C#, .NET / .NET Core, and ASP.NET CoreHands-on experience with a modern front-end framework — React or AngularHands-on Microsoft Azure experience — App Service, Functions, Service Bus — with microservices architectureStrong REST / Web API development experienceStrong SQL Server / Azure SQL database design and optimization skillsProficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOpsExperience contributing to legacy modernization or rewrite initiativesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)Nice to have: Containerization experience with Docker and AKSNice to have: Hands-on experience with Entity Framework CoreNice to have: Experience with message-driven architecturesNice to have: Prior exposure to AI-enabled features or integration with AI/ML servicesNice to have: Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industriesThings to keep in mind!Compensation: $11,700 – $15,000 / month (W2). Individual pay within the posted range is determined by multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.Contract duration: This is a W2 engagement with an initial 6-month term and strong likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs.Location: Hybrid schedule at our client's Dallas, TX office (Tuesday through Thursday onsite) is preferred.
