🚀 Software Engineer – Full-Stack / AI📍 Location: San Francisco, CA (South Park)🏢 Work Policy: On-site, 5 days/week💼 Job Type: Full-time💰 Salary: $150,000 – $220,000/year + competitive equity🛂 Visa Sponsorship: Not available👥 Hiring: 3 Software EngineersAbout CaraCara is building domain-specific AI for the insurance industry, helping agencies automate workflows with a 24/7 digital workforce.Backed by top-tier venture capital firms and serving customers ranging from Fortune 100 companies to independent agencies, Cara is a fast-growing AI company where engineers have the opportunity to work closely with founders, customers, and an exceptional technical team.About the RoleWe’re looking for Software Engineers with 3+ years of full-stack software engineering experience to join our early-stage team and build the systems powering our AI platform.You’ll be an early, high-impact engineer with significant ownership, working across the stack and shipping features that directly impact thousands of insurance professionals.What You’ll Do- Develop and refine autonomous digital workers that automate insurance workflows end-to-end.- Design, build, and ship features across the full technology stack, including frontend interfaces, backend APIs, services, and infrastructure.- Collaborate directly with customers to understand their business processes and deliver tailored technical solutions.- Build and improve AI and compute infrastructure, asynchronous processing systems, observability, and operational tooling.- Partner with the go-to-market team to translate customer requirements into product priorities and roadmaps.- Work closely with founders and other engineers to solve complex technical problems and shape the product.Requirements- 3+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering.- Strong track record of ownership and end-to-end execution.- Experience building and shipping meaningful products, features, side projects, or open-source contributions.- Full-stack development experience, with both frontend and backend capabilities.- Experience with AI concepts, APIs, workflows, and modern AI tooling.- Demonstrated excellence through experience at a top-tier technology company, strong GitHub/open-source work, founder experience, or similarly exceptional technical accomplishments.- Ability to work in person in San Francisco 5 days per week.- Strong problem-solving skills and a high-ownership mindset.Nice to Have- Experience at a high-growth, early-stage AI, B2B SaaS, or FinTech startup.- Platform or infrastructure experience, including: - Asynchronous processing - Observability - Compute infrastructure - Performance optimization- Degree from a top-tier Computer Science program.What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for engineers who:- Thrive in fast-paced, scrappy startup environments.- Take ownership from idea through production.- Can work across the frontend and backend.- Are comfortable working directly with customers and founders.- Have strong growth potential and enjoy solving complex technical problems.- Have demonstrated exceptional technical ability and impact.Compensation & Benefits💰 $150,000 – $220,000 annual salary📈 Competitive equity🏢 5 days/week in-office in South Park, San FranciscoImportantThis is a fully on-site position in San Francisco.
