Senior Administrative Clerk – Planning – Town of MiltonMay 30, 2026 by APA-MA AdministratorGRADE: Grade 4 ($26.42 – $31.05 an hour) (not to exceed 19.5 Hours/weekly)ResponsibilitiesSkilled administrative work, supporting the operations of the Planning Board, and assisting the public, responding to requests for assistance; all other related work, as required. This position is generally scheduled 8 AM to 1 PM four days per week, not to exceed 19.5 hours per week. Some schedule flexibility may be possible.RequirementsEducation and ExperienceHigh school graduation including, or supplemented by, courses in office procedures and secretarial skills; two years of office experience; experience working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Ability and SkillKnowledge. Knowledge of professional office practices and procedures; general knowledge of municipal government is a plusAbility. Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner. Ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to keep detailed records of financial transactions. Ability to use a computer and learn various programs. Ability to meet multiple demands.Skill. Excellent typing, secretarial and computer skills, including some proficiency with web-based collaboration platforms such as Sharepoint or Google Workspace; Adobe; MS Office, data management and spreadsheet applications required. Skill and ability in operating standard office equipment. Good communication skills, organizational skills and customer service skills.
