This position operates at one level under the Security Officer and requires a proactive approach to security, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism. They will be responsible for a fixed post or patrolling an assigned area to preserve peace and order, to provide excellent customer service, protect persons and property, and perform duties relating to the welfare and safety of the employees, patients, visitors, and property of WellStar Health System.Core Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsProvide excellent customer serviceGreet and screen every visitorAsk for identification (ID) of each visitor & to state their reason for being thereObtain the ID and scan into the systemGenerate the temporary ID badge and explain that by policy, it must worn at all times inside the hospital. Also, inform the visitors that when they leave, they should check out and relinquish their temporary IDs.Assist when team members accompany visitors without badges back to the entrance to complete proper check-inThe primary point of contact as visitor managementEnsures all visitors are appropriately checked in per policy and procedureProvide a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areasMaintain a positive working relationship with facility staff membersMaintain a thorough knowledge of a facility and where applicable of multiple facilitiesCommunicate effectively with diverse people including clients or their representatives, client employees, visitors, or client vendorsWrite accurate, clear, and legible reportsAttend monthly staff meetings and in-service classes related to the Security DepartmentEnforce the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Wellstar Health SystemProvide assistance to employees, patients, and visitorsDocument observations, hazards, and incidents for follow-up corrective actionTake immediate corrective action against hazards and conditions which may cause injury or damageReport any unsafe conditions and actions taken to the supervisorSafety/Emergency responsibility & responseAssist with emergency response as directed by supervisorRespond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situationsEscort persons and assist facility personnelBe vigilant and alert for activities, which could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of propertyPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conductRequired Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma Other or GED OtherRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.Additional License(s) and Certification(s):Required Minimum Experience:Less than 1 year private safety/security, military, or law enforcement experience PreferredRequired Minimum Skills:Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful workand enjoy a more rewarding life.
