Location: Shelton, CT (Hybrid work schedule) Pay Rate: $25/hour Internship Dates: 6/1/26 - 8/7/26 The Role We are seeking a curious, detail-oriented, and professional undergraduate intern interested in exploring a legal career to support our in-house Legal Department. Areas of practice include corporate governance, employment law, patents, trademarks, contract law, advertising law, litigation, and data privacy. This paid internship provides exposure to how an in-house legal team partners with the business to manage risk, protect innovation and brands, and enable growth, while building foundational skills that support future law school success.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport attorneys and legal operations teammates with legal research and issue-spotting across multiple specialties (corporate governance, employment, IP, contracts, advertising, litigation, and privacy)Draft and revise first-pass materials such as summaries, checklists, timelines, and business-friendly guidance (with appropriate attorney supervision)Assist with contract intake activities (e.g., organizing requests, tracking status, and preparing basic contract term summaries)Support trademark and patent workstreams by gathering background information, organizing files, and helping prepare portfolio or matter status updatesAssist with advertising and marketing law support, including claim substantiation organization and review (e.g., compiling support for attorney review)Support litigation and investigations by helping maintain matter trackers, organizing documents, and assisting with litigation hold communications (as needed)Assist with data privacy projects, such as maintaining records, supporting data subject request workflows, and tracking training or compliance initiativesPrepare meeting agendas, notes, and presentations; communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and, as appropriate, outside counselLearning ObjectivesGain exposure to how an in-house legal department supports business teams through practical, risk-based legal guidanceBuild foundational skills in legal research, writing, organization, and professional judgmentDevelop understanding of core corporate legal topicsStrengthen communication skills by translating legal concepts into clear, business-friendly summaries and updatesQualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Pre-Law, Political Science, History, English, Business, Economics, STEM, or related fields) with interest in attending law schoolStrong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalismInterest in and curiosity about how legal decisions impact real-world business outcomesExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear summaries and organize information logicallyProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); comfort learning new tools and systemsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with legal concepts is a plus, but not requiredWork Environment Model: This is a hybrid role designed to balance flexibility with in-person mentoring and team collaboration. Schedule: The intern is expected to be in-office 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday , with the remaining 2 days working remotely.
