This role offers immediate hands-on responsibility and direct involvement in sophisticated commercial litigation matters, including commercial disputes, real property and construction claims, fiduciary and shareholder disputes, and estates and trusts litigation. This is a highly substantive role with significant courtroom exposure and client interaction from day one. The associate will manage cases through all phases of litigation in Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. state and federal courts, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions practice, hearings, ADR proceedings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Responsibilities include: Drafting and arguing motions, briefs, and legal memoranda Managing an active litigation docket with substantial autonomy Participating in depositions, mediations, and court appearances Communicating directly with clients and contributing to litigation strategy Assisting with and participating in trial work commensurate with experience The ideal candidate will possess strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills, experience handling substantive litigation matters, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Experience in commercial litigation, construction litigation, real property disputes, or estates and trusts litigation is preferred.
