Currently, w e have a Collections Professional for opportunity with an instrument rental company in San Antonio.Position OverviewWe are seeking a high-performing Collections Professional to manage delinquent rental accounts across 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120+ day aging buckets within a fast-growing musical instrument rental portfolio.This role requires a consultative, customer-first collections approach while driving strong recovery results. The ideal candidate brings experience in consumer collections, lease-to-own, subscription billing, or financial services and has the leadership capability to grow into a Collections Supervisor role .Key ResponsibilitiesCollections & Account ResolutionManage assigned portfolio of past-due rental accounts (30–120+ days delinquent).Conduct high-volume outbound calls, emails, and SMS outreach to drive payment resolution.Negotiate payment plans, settlements, and reinstatement options.Educate customers on rental terms, billing cycles, and return obligations.Drive instrument return or account cure strategies for severely delinquent accounts.Asset Recovery FocusCoordinate recovery efforts for non-returned rental instruments.Work with customers to arrange returns, avoid escalation, and minimize loss exposure.Identify accounts for escalation, repossession, or legal review.Performance & KPI OwnershipMeet/exceed daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs:Right-party contactsPromise-to-pay (PTP) conversionDollars collectedRoll rate improvement (30→60→90 containment)Maintain detailed documentation of all collection activityCustomer ExperienceDeliver professional, empathetic communication with parents and students.De-escalate sensitive situations while protecting company assets.Balance brand reputation with recovery performance.Leadership / Growth Track (Supervisor Path)Mentor junior collectors and support training initiatives.Assist in developing call strategies, scripts, and workflows.Provide input on process improvements and automation.Track team KPIs and contribute to performance reporting.Opportunity to grow into Collections Supervisor / Team Lead.Required Qualifications2–5+ years of collections experience (consumer, rental, lease-to-own, or financial services).Experience working aged debt (30/60/90/120+).Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills.Ability to manage high call volume and performance metrics.Experience with CRM, dialers, or collections platforms.Preferred ExperienceRent-to-own, subscription billing, or asset-based collections.Financial services, auto finance, or consumer lending.Experience with auto-debit / card-on-file collections.Skip tracing or asset recovery coordination .Prior leadership or mentoring experience .Core CompetenciesKPI-driven and results-oriented.Strong emotional intelligence (this is NOT aggressive collections).Problem-solver with a customer-first mindset.Ability to influence outcomes without damaging relationships.Organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven .Pay Rate Range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
