IT Business AnalystVirginia Transformer Corp Location: Roanoke, VAPosition SummaryVirginia Transformer Corp, a leading manufacturer of power transformers and electrical infrastructure solutions, is seeking an IT Business Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.This role will act as a critical link between business teams (sales, operations, finance, supply chain, and engineering) and IT/MIS systems. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, developing reports and dashboards, improving data integrity, and supporting ERP/CRM systems to enhance operational efficiency and visibility.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable insights.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Requirements GatheringPartner with stakeholders across sales, operations, finance, and supply chain to understand business needs and challenges.Gather, document, and translate business requirements into system and reporting solutions.Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.Data Analysis & ReportingDevelop and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support decision-making.Analyze data related to sales performance, production, inventory, order management, and financial metrics.Provide actionable insights to leadership to support strategic and operational initiatives.ERP / CRM / MIS SupportSupport and optimize ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and CRM platforms.Assist with system configuration, testing, and enhancements.Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve business workflows, reporting accuracy, and system utilization.Support automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and increase efficiency.Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams on system upgrades and implementations.Data Governance & QualityEstablish and maintain data standards, validation processes, and governance practices.Monitor data quality and resolve discrepancies across systems.Promote best practices for data entry, reporting, and usage.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales, finance, and supply chain teams.Support key business initiatives such as forecasting, pricing analysis, order tracking, and capacity planning.Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Engineering, or related field required.Experience3–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, MIS Analyst, or Data Analyst.Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering-driven environments strongly preferred.Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, etc.) and CRM platforms.Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis toolsExperience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferredUnderstanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and order managementAbility to translate complex data into clear, actionable insightsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work with a leading manufacturer in the power infrastructure industryCompetitive compensation and benefitsA collaborative, cross-functional work environmentThe opportunity to impact data-driven decision-making and operational efficiencyAbout Virginia Transformer CorpVirginia Transformer Corp is one of North America’s leading manufacturers of power transformers and electrical infrastructure solutions, serving utilities, renewable energy developers, industrial facilities, and data centers.
