Interim Group Controller - SEC Reporting

We are partnering with a growing publicly traded organization seeking an experienced Interim Controller to support key financial reporting, compliance, and strategic accounting initiatives during an important period of growth and transformation.Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will serve as a senior-level accounting resource focused on technical accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance. This role is less focused on day-to-day accounting operations and more centered on higher-level reporting and special projects.This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Controller, SEC Reporting professional, or technical accounting consultant who enjoys stepping into organizations, quickly assessing priorities, and partnering with executive leadership to drive critical initiatives.What You'll DoLead SEC reporting efforts in support of the company's planned U.S. exchange uplistSupport PCAOB audit completion and work closely with external auditorsPrepare and review financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedulesEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRSOversee consolidated reporting and intercompany accounting across U.S. and international entitiesEvaluate and strengthen the internal control environmentPartner with the CFO, Accounting Manager, auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors on key reporting initiativesWhat We're Looking ForSignificant SEC reporting experience within a public company or SEC-regulated environmentHands-on experience supporting PCAOB auditsStrong technical accounting knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS experience preferredExperience with consolidations, financial reporting, and public-company complianceAbility to operate independently with minimal oversightCPA strongly preferredExperience supporting an IPO, uplist, or other public-company readiness initiative is highly desirableMining, energy, or natural resources experience is a plus, but not requiredAdditional DetailsRemote - Office in Lone Tree, COFull-time contract anticipated to last 3–6 months, with the potential to extendOpportunity to play a key role in a high-profile public company reporting initiativeIf you're an experienced Controller or SEC Reporting professional looking for an impactful consulting engagement, we'd love to connectBrainWorks specializes in providing exceptional Interim talent to help businesses navigate critical challenges, maintain continuity, and achieve their goals.
