Events Manager

Job DescriptionThis job is responsible for developing the event and content strategies that achieve line of business goals and priorities, working with Events Segment Executives, line of business leaders, Communications and Marketing to develop strategic objectives, budget, and execution planning; in addition to providing direction on overall event plan to assigned planners and cross-functional teammates who support the execution (AV, Security, Comms, Marketing), coordinating the end-to-end planning, management, and execution of events. Individual contributions include producing detailed budget and event optimisation strategies, sourcing and creating invitations, developing agendas and Run-of-Show, managing attendees, planning and executing logistics (often including on-site representation of cross-functional areas such as AV, Security, Marketing and Comms), reporting pre- and post-events, processing invoices and reconciling events. Job expectations include travelling to events, leading and managing event activity and cross-functional onsite teams, including vendors.ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and coordination of complex client and internal events, including both in-person and virtual.Work with the Event Segment Executive, line of business, Communications, Marketing and Academy partners to develop and recommend event and content strategy that achieves the line of business goals and priorities.Partner with the Event Segment Lead, line of business, Communications, Marketing and Academy partners to develop the strategic objectives, budget and execution plan for each program and for the overall yearly line-of-business event portfolio.Regularly liaise with senior management to advise on coordination, propose value-add event activities and provide direction on marketing and communications initiatives, priorities, objectives, program planning and event optimisation strategies.Ensure events are planned within company guidelines and manage all risks associated with events, protecting employees, clients, brand, financial oversight, information security and operational risk: engage Compliance, Legal, Risk, Corporate Security and Corporate Communication partners as needed.Advise and provide direction and input on the overall event plan to additional vendor planners.Manage end-to-end event execution, including detailed budget creation, sourcing, invitation creation, agenda/Run-of-Show development, planning technology tools, attendee management and logistics planning (menus, audio-visual, technology).Provide pre- and post-event reporting, invoice processing and event reconciliation.Coordinate the planning, management and execution of complex events, both in-person and virtual.Work with minimal supervision to deliver for stakeholders, both in the office and onsite at events, providing on-site logistics support, attendee support and risk management.Required Qualifications10-15 years large-scale or complex conference and event production experience.Extensive knowledge of event planning processes, including contracting, logistics, on-site execution, budget management and reconciliation.Stakeholder management experience, including leading cross-functional teams with external partners.Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presence and strategic influencing skills.Strong financial management experience with multi-million dollar budgets.Ability to balance strategic direction with detail orientation.Travel 20-30% of the time.SkillsAttention to DetailCustomer and Client FocusEvent PlanningPresentation SkillsProject ManagementFinancial OversightActive ListeningBusiness AcumenCollaborationPrioritizationWritten CommunicationsExecutive PresenceInfluenceWritten and Oral CommunicationsRisk ManagementShift & Hours1st shift (United States of America)Hours per week: 40Pay & BenefitsUS – CT – Stamford – 600 Washington Blvd (CT2561) US – IL – Chicago – 540 W Madison St – Bank Of America Plaza (IL4540) US – MA – Boston – 100 Federal St – 100 Federal St Lp (MA5100) US – MA – Waltham – 1025 Main St – 1025 Main St Waltham (MA6536) US – NJ – Pennington – 1500 American Blvd – Hopewell Bldg 5 (NJ2150) US – NY – New York – 1114 Avenue Of The Americas – Grace (NY1544)Pay range: $96,800.00 – $136,600.00 annually (based on experience, education and skill set).Discretionary incentive: Eligible for annual discretionary plan; employees may receive an award based on performance results, line-of-business and/or group contributions, and overall company success.Benefits: Eligible for industry-leading benefits, paid time off, resources and support for a genuine impact and sustainable growth of the business and communities served.J-18808-Ljbffr
