POSITION INFORMATION: BASIC DETAILS Travel Requirement: NoTeleworking: NoFull-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time (Seasonal)FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay Range: $25/hr. - $35/hr.Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTSThe CDL Driver is critical in supporting hurricane response efforts in Florida by ensuring the timely and safe delivery of essential goods and materials to designated locations. The CDL Driver will be responsible for operating commercial motor vehicles to transport supplies, equipment, and other necessary resources to assist affected areas and response personnel.Duties/Responsibilities:Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs), including trucks, to transport goods, supplies, and equipment to designated locations, such as distribution centers, shelters, or disaster zones.Safely and efficiently transport cargo, adhering to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, documenting any issues or maintenance needs.Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logistics personnel, and other team members to coordinate deliveries and provide updates on delivery status.Navigate using maps, GPS devices, and other routing tools to determine the most efficient delivery routes.Operate vehicle in various weather conditions, including potentially hazardous conditions associated with hurricane aftermath.Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including those related to loading, unloading, and operating CMVs in disaster zones.Assist with other tasks as needed, such as setting up distribution sites or helping with the unloading of suppliesRequired Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B, with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker, if required for specific cargo).Clean driving record with no major violationsAbility to operate CMVs safely and efficiently in various road conditions, including potentially damaged or obstructed roads.Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety procedures.Be prepared to deploy to disaster-affected areas, often with short notice.Work Environment:Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.Physical Requirements:Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
