Position Type:Tutors/OtherDate Posted:2/27/2026Location:Boyne City Public SchoolsDistrict:Boyne City SchoolsBoyne City Public Schools and Boyne Area Indian Education are looking for a Title VI Academic Tutor for the 2025-2026 school year for the Boyne City Public School location.The Title VI Academic Tutor position will involve reinforcing educational skills aligned with the State of Michigan standards for academic achievement for Native American students.This 10-15-hour-per-week position will provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions for students across grade levels at Boyne City Public Schools. It will help students develop core academic skills and cultural awareness. The successful candidate will also be responsible for organizing and coordinating with the program director on monthly cultural after-school activities and other program-related events.A high school diploma is required; a college degree in education is preferred, but not required for consideration. A successful candidate will be able to interact with children of different ages, be independent and self-starting, take initiative, organize, accept and follow directions from supervisors, collect and track data, and communicate regularly with each student's teachers. Functional knowledge of computer use is also essential for success. Candidates with upper-level math and writing skills, as well as those with excellent verbal communication skills, may receive preference.Work experience with native people and communities, as well as an orientation towards wellness living, are strongly preferred.
