Loc Color Specialist Hairstylist (Cosmetologist)

We are NappStar, a hair salon that specializes in Locs! We are looking for a Color Specialist who is knowledgeable in natural hair care, as their responsibilities may include color consultations, recommending after care and maintenance. Training is provided and mandatory for this position to familiarize yourself with our standards. Description Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary First 90 Days: $18 - $22/hr + tips After 90 Days: Transition to a Commission Stylist 35%-40% of Service Sales + Tips Transition timeframe may vary i.e longer or shorter based on various factors. Licensure Requirements: Cosmetology License Required Skills: Professionalism Color Theory Color Formulation Loc Knowledge Comb Retwist Loc Styling Wide range of coloring techniques Excellent communication Attention to detail Physical stamina to work long hours Customer Service Time Management Organized/Neat You must be able to work with various techniques including all over color, root touch up, loc tips, permanent, semi-permanent, double process, lightener/blonding/toning, Foiling, etc. Responsibilities Welcome clients with a pleasant professional demeanor Provide consultations and professional recommendations Provide color services Provide non-color loc services (comb retwists, loc styles, treatments, etc) Be prepared to have a Social Media presence Record color formulas to profile's Ensure tidiness and sterilization of workspaces and tools Salary $50,000 - $80,000 per year
