Project Engineer - Transmission & Distribution

High-voltage projects up to 500kVFast-track to Project ManagerAbout Our ClientWe are a leading engineering and infrastructure partner supporting major utility and energy clients across the U.S., delivering critical transmission, substation, and distribution projects that power communities and drive grid modernization.Job DescriptionSupport end-to-end execution of transmission line (69kV-500kV) and substation (13.8kV-500kV) projects, from engineering through construction and closeoutCoordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure alignment on design packages, material delivery, and field executionTrack and maintain project schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project), budgets, forecasts, and earned value metricsReview and coordinate engineering deliverables including:Transmission line routing, structure spotting, and foundation designsSubstation physical layouts, one-lines, three-lines, and grounding plansSupport procurement activities including equipment tracking for major components such as:Power transformers (69kV-500kV)Breakers, disconnect switches, and bus systemsRelay panels and control housesManage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and drawing revisions to ensure timely resolution and minimal project impactInterface with utilities, clients, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to support permitting, design approvals, and construction coordinationAssist with construction oversight and field coordination, including:Site visits for transmission line construction and substation installationMonitoring contractor productivity and milestone progressSupporting outage coordination and energization planningEnsure adherence to utility standards, NESC, NEC, and safety regulations, particularly for high-voltage environmentsSupport commissioning and energization activities, including coordination with Protection & Controls and SCADA teamsIdentify project risks related to schedule delays, material constraints, and constructability, and assist in mitigation planningMaintain detailed project documentation, reporting, and communication to stakeholders and leadershipMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
