Details:Introduction:Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this direct full-time General Machinist IV position. This role is going to be onsite in Middletown, CT.General Machinist IV Responsibilities:Work under the direction of the Group Leader or Supervisor with minimal supervision to perform diversified machining operations with exact tolerances and finish specificationsApply 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles in daily work practicesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and follow written and verbal instructions while adhering to shop policies and quality standardsAchieve required contours, dimensions, and finish specificationsModify operational sequences to adjust machining speeds and frequency of cuts to improve efficiencySet up CNC Swiss Screw equipment to perform machining sequencesOperate a variety of CNC and manual machinesEdit and verify machine programmingDetermine operational and tooling sequencesSelect appropriate feeds, speeds, and toolingMaintain tight tolerances consistently to four decimal placesPerform general shop work, including deburring and minor maintenance dutiesMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work areaInspect own work using gauges and inspection equipment to ensure maximum qualityConduct frequent inspections of production work to maintain quality standards and prevent scrap or reworkMaintain Operator Acceptance Program (OAP) certification to inspect own work using hand tools and measuring instrumentsReport defective parts, materials, or unusual conditions to the Group Leader or SupervisorJob Requirements Details:General Machinist IV Requirements:Over 5 years of CNC Machining experience to qualify.Use of elementary geometry, algebra and trigonometric principles together with the use of drawings, specifications, charts and tables. Ability to use various types of precision measuring tools and instruments. Familiarity with shop practices, inspection and safety.Able to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform activities, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes within standardized limitations.Make decisions on the fixtures to be used, cutting tools, inspection equipment needed and how to set up machines to perform operations.Visium Resources is an award-winning employment firm with a mission to match talented individuals with highly successful organizations.
