Other Residential Care FacilitiesContinuing Care Retirement Communities and Assisted Living Facilities for the ElderlyResidential Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse FacilitiesScenic and Sightseeing Transportation, WaterSpecial Food ServicesRESIDENT ENGINEERWORK LOCATION: SEATTLE, WAMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, construction management, architecture or related field \10 years of relevant expericencePreferred RequriementsOptional Certifications may include PMP, PE, DBIA and/or any other relevant Professional License or Certification.DutiesExercise engineering judgment to resolve construction issues in the field, evaluate contractor proposals, support change management activities, and ensure proper documentation of construction work.Oversee field site activities and provide technical advice on construction and design; discuss deviations from specified construction materials and procedures with the Engineer-In-Charge.Read and interpret plans, specifications, and other complex construction documents; review submittals including shop drawings, product data, test samples, and construction work plans.Direct and review the work of assistant engineers, construction inspectors, consultants, and technical staff assigned to the project.Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of construction inspection and office engineering staff.Monitor the project safety plans and the implementation of safety plans for all employees and contractors.Monitor, coordinate, and enforce construction compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and environmental documents; identify non-compliant work and take appropriate action to bring it back into compliance.Prepare progress reports and other documentation for the owner and other stakeholders.Prepare detailed documentation including daily diaries and quantity sheets; coordinate materials testing and construction staking services.Coordinate daily with operations, maintenance, facilities, real estate, safety, and systems engineering staff to facilitate access, construction staging, shutdowns, and inspections.Develop a communication plan with the client, including monthly reports, project management reports, and various schedules and cost control reports, along with a matrix of responsibilities for all team members.Apply project management and/or resident engineer experience in rail construction, including track, right-of-way improvements, yards, facilities, stations, tunnels, power systems, and security systems.Work with resident engineers on training contractual requirements and assist with operational readiness needs and equipment.
