Preconstruction Manager – Electrical Contracting CompanyPosition Title: Preconstruction ManagerTiello has partnered with a highly successful Electrical Contractor in the Palm City, FL area that has the need for an Preconstruction Manager to oversee bidding mostly commercial, healthcare and government projects ranging from $125k-$145k (depending on experience)Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Preconstruction Manager to lead the planning, estimating, and preconstruction efforts for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing budgeting, conceptual estimating, value engineering, design coordination, bid strategy, and client interaction from project pursuit through turnover to operations. As well as oversee all of Estimating.The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical construction background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, vendors, and internal operations teams to ensure successful project planning and execution.Key Responsibilities:Lead all preconstruction and estimating activities for electrical construction projectsPrepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and bid proposalsReview plans, specifications, drawings, and project documents for accuracy and completenessCoordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors during the preconstruction phaseDevelop scope sheets, clarifications, takeoffs, and pricing strategiesIdentify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives through value engineeringAssist with project scheduling, manpower planning, procurement strategy, and logistics planningManage bid deadlines, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, and proposal submissionsParticipate in design-assist and design-build project coordination meetingsSupport business development efforts and help maintain client relationshipsCollaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams during project handoffMaintain estimating databases, labor units, and historical cost informationEnsure all estimates align with company standards, profitability goals, and market conditionsQualifications:5+ years of experience in electrical construction estimating, preconstruction, or project managementStrong knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systemsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contractsExperience with conceptual estimating, budgeting, and value engineeringProficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, McCormick, or similar platformsStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsExperience working with design-build and negotiated projects preferredAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not requiredField electrical experience is a plusPreferred Project Experience:Commercial ConstructionEducationGovernmentCompensation & Benefits:Competitive SalaryBonus OpportunitiesVehicle Allowance or Company VehicleHealth, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off & HolidaysCareer Growth OpportunitiesCollaborative Team EnvironmentIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-driven, and understands both the technical and operational sides of electrical construction.
