Manufacturing Automation Engineer

Job Description:Develop and execute a five-year strategic automation roadmap to outline long-term investment opportunitiesDefine the technical scope for MG-NA automation projects, including AGVs, robotics, and cobotsLead and coordinate complex, long-term engineering projects from inception to completion within budgetary and scheduling guidelinesAct as a technical mentor, providing guidance and coaching to site-level technical teams on automation solutionsPartner with international regions to benchmark and transfer best-in-class Avery Dennison automation solutions worldwideRepresent the organization as the prime technical contact on major contracts and projects, interacting with senior external personnel and internal leadershipRequirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field is requiredMinimum of 6+ years of engineering, research, or scientific experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 4+ years with a Master's degree)Strong background in industrial electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; must be able to complete difficult technical assignments without immediate supervisionProficiency in AutoCAD to develop and update complex drawings (P&IDs, PFDs)Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet for project trackingWorking knowledge of Six Sigma and ELS (Avery Dennison's Enterprise Lean Sigma) principles preferredExperience with high-volume manufacturing processes and capital equipment purchasingStrong verbal and written skills; ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute requirementsAbility to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international, based on business needsBenefits:Health & wellness benefits starting on day 1 of employmentPaid parental leave401K eligibilityTuition reimbursementEmployee Assistance Program eligibility / Health AdvocatePaid vacation and paid holidays
