OSP Designer
The OSP Designer will be responsible for planning, designing, documenting, and permitting proposed new outside plant FTTx build-outs. This role will work as a member of our Fiber Design & Implementation Engineering team to produce high-quality deliverables for buried, underground, and aerial fiber applications.
Training will be offered to the right candidate who meets minimum requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Designs and/or engineers routine and specific outside plant work orders using any combination of aerial, buried, or underground fiber optic cable.
Reads and understands maps, drawings, and diagrams for Telecom/FTTx OSP construction.
Manages multiple assignments at once and completes projects within provided deadlines according to client and company standards.
Overtime is often required.
This is an in-office position, but occasional travel may be required.
Requirements
At least two (2) years’ experience in telecom engineering and design is required.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD-based software.
Working knowledge of GIS systems such as ArcGIS/QGIS/Google Earth, etc.
Must possess intermediate skills in essential programs like Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
Highly organized, self-starter, and detail-oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Superior time management and strong attention to detail.
This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
HS Diploma or GED is required.
