We’re working with Barclays on a key hire within their front-office data platform team.This is a high-impact role focused on building and scaling one of the largest KDB+ estates on the street sitting close to trading, with strong visibility across senior stakeholders.What you’ll be doing:Building and optimising KDB+ (q) systems for large-scale time-series dataWorking on tick architecture, CEP, and low-latency data pipelinesDesigning data platforms (warehousing, lakes, real-time processing)Partnering with quants and data scientists on analytics + ML workflowsDriving improvements across performance, scalability, and architectureWhat they’re looking for:Strong KDB+/Q experience (tick, CEP, time-series)Background in low-latency / electronic trading environmentsExperience building large-scale distributed data systemsSolid engineering fundamentals + stakeholder engagementWhy it’s interesting:Front-office exposure with real impact on trading systemsLarge-scale, complex KDB environmentOngoing push toward cloud, containerisation, and modern data tooling (PyKX, Snowflake, Databricks)If you’ve worked with KDB+ in a trading environment and want something with more ownership and visibility this could be the role for you.
