Excavator/Skidsteer Heavy Equipment Operator
As a Heavy Equipment Operator with Superior Skilled Trades, you will play a key role in site preparation and earthwork for construction projects. Your primary duties will include operating excavators and skidsteers, with some general labor and groundwork as needed to support crew operations. Performing safe operations on our job sites. This can include working around jobsite traffic or hazards such as electrical or gas lines and hauling equipment or materials to work locations. Equipment Operators must communicate and work as part of a team to ensure the successful completion of projects and job site specifications.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafely operate excavators, skid steers, heavy machinery and other earth-moving equipment.Perform precise grading and excavation according to site plans and project specifications.Load and move materials such as dirt, rock, and debris using heavy equipment.Use GPS and grade control systems to maintain accurate excavation depths and site elevations (if experienced).Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance (e.g., fluid checks, greasing).Work in coordination with site supervisors, foremen, and other crew members to meet project timelines.Assist with groundwork, including site cleanup, trenching, and other manual tasks as needed.Ensure a clean and safe work environment by following all OSHA safety standards and site regulations.Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
