We are looking for an Open Access Fellow to join our Capital Formation - New Markets Tax Credits Team.The Capital Formation Team at Baker Tilly (BT) is comprised of dedicated, client-focused professionals specializing in capital sourcing for real estate projects and operating businesses nationwide. Our specialized team assists project sponsors in securing and structuring capital for new construction, expansion, and acquisition/rehabilitation of real estate and the expansion of job creating operating businesses.BT’s New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) team is an industry leading financial consulting group which has been involved in the NMTC industry since its inception over 20 years ago. The team presently maintains offices in Illinois, Texas and Wisconsin and is comprised of professionals with significant NMTC and structured finance experience.You Will Have The Opportunity ToSeek information from project sponsors to analyze community impacts of projectsCollaborate with and assist team with financing structures to support NMTC or related financingsPrepare executive summary pitchbooks for projects to source NMTC capital, investment and subsidy from development entities and investors [primarily national banks]Assist team to identify and interact with the financing participants and investorsAssist team in obtaining and negotiating term sheetsPrepare preliminary financial modelsGather, organize and analyze due diligenceAssist in project management responsibilitiesAssist in the closing and documentation of the NMTC related financingAssist in drafting of NMTCs applicationsQualificationsSuccessful candidates will meet the following requirements:A high school diploma requiredApplied and admitted into the Open Access program; flexibility to work part-time starting in May 2026 to August 2026Demonstrated analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skillsAbility to provide exceptional client service and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning to stay current regarding applicable strategiesUnderstanding of financial and operating performanceThere is currently no immigration sponsorship available for this positionThe pay rate ranges for this position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
