A day in this roleReporting to the Quality Leader, you move fluidly between progressive transfer press lines, machining cells, welding bays, and metal fabrication areas. You ensure that product designs and shop-floor processes work in harmony for existing parts and products. Partnering closely with Supplier Quality Engineers and Product Engineering—and in concert with Purchasing—you assess the capability of both current and prospective suppliers. You read drawings and GD&T with ease, collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers, and you thrive on untangling complex quality issues in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.What you’ll doLead and apply structured problem-solving; help train teammates to use a disciplined approach.Use Control Plans and PFMEAs to sustain process control and mitigate risk.Leverage process and machine capability studies to pinpoint opportunities for current and future requirements.Track and drive closure of supplier-related quality and productivity concerns.Procure the inspection and test equipment needed for your assigned production areas.Supervise assigned quality process control and audit personnel.Maintain test and audit quality records that align with engineering specifications.Support introduction of new designs into production, ensuring processes meet engineering specifications.Own KPI boards—turning “who’s going to do what by when” into delivered results.Champion an “Everyone Owns Quality” culture by enabling problem-solving at the source.What you bringEducationAS in Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing discipline required.BS in Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing discipline desired.Knowledge & ExperiencePreferred 2–4 years in quality assurance and/or quality control.Hands-on with quality tools: capability studies, process mapping, FMEA, control charts, and higher-level Six Sigma methods.Clear, effective written and verbal communication.Experience working within project teams is a plus. xaygatp Physical requirementsPeriods of sitting and standing; manual dexterity; stooping and bending; minimal lifting.
