Job Description Procurement Specialist – Manufacturing & FabricationPioneer Energy, Lakewood, COPioneer Energy is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join its production team. Pioneer Energy develops and manufactures proprietary equipment that solves gas processing challenges in the oilfield through innovation and new technology.Our production team is a small group of highly skilled individuals in welding, electrical, HVAC, engineering, and fabrication. This position will work closely with the Production Manager and Lead Engineers to support procurement activities, including sourcing materials, managing RFQs and purchase orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and building strong vendor relationships.Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.Job Qualifications3 + years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.Ability to generate and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Purchase Orders (POs).Experience working with ERP systems for procurement, inventory, and order tracking.Strong understanding of material types used in fabrication (carbon steel, stainless steel, pipe, fittings, valves, etc.).Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.Experience managing inventory levels and maintaining accurate stock records.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, engineers, and production personnel.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Production Manager and Project Engineers to identify material and equipment needs.Prepare and issue RFQs to vendors for materials, components, and services.Evaluate vendor quotes based on cost, lead time, and quality.Generate and manage Purchase Orders in the ERP system (Counterpart).Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.Maintain accurate inventory levels and perform regular inventory checks.Update and manage material data within the ERP system.Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead time reduction, and process improvements.Coordinate with receiving and production teams to verify materials upon arrival.Resolve discrepancies with vendors, including pricing, delivery, and quality issues.Maintain organized records of purchasing activity and documentation.Logistics ownership: Coordinating heavy hauling, LTL, or component level UPS/FEDEX/USPS shipmentsPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentAbility to move between office and production floor as needed.Frequently able to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities.Safely operate a Forklift.Company DescriptionPioneer Energy is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that designs and builds innovative, cloud-enabled technologies to help energy producers reduce emissions while meeting production goals.Our proprietary systems process wellhead fluids more efficiently, stabilize crude oil to meet GOR and RVP targets, and condition gas streams for in-field use.
