Emergency Medical Technician - EMT - Certified

Department:Schedule:Hospital:Location: Job Summary: The duties of the EMT are very broad, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. The EMT must respond to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide care and transportation to patients. The patient may be critically ill and/or injured. The patient may be in a state of distress that requires understanding the emotional stress of the patient and their families. The EMT will transport the patient to the appropriate medical facility while providing patient care. Minimum Requirements:Must be certified in the State of Indiana as an EMT/B as defined in (836 IAC 16-1-39-6).Must be at least (21) years of age and have (2) years driving experience.Must have a clean driving record and be accepted by Witham's insurance carrier.Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span, and provide the care needed as described in the department's protocols/policies/procedures. Experience: One (1) year of pre-hospital emergency care is helpful, but not necessary. Must have basic computer skills.
