Responsibilities: Wine Program Management: * Develop and curate an outstanding wine list that complements our menu and caters to the diverse tastes of our clientele. * Continuously update and expand the wine selection, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging vineyards. * Oversee wine inventory, ordering, and storage, ensuring proper rotation, organization, and optimal cellar conditions. * Conduct staff training sessions to enhance wine knowledge and promote suggestive selling techniques. Guest Service and Experience: * Provide exceptional service and personalized recommendations to guests, guiding them through our wine selection. * Create memorable experiences through wine tastings, pairings, and special events. * Act as the main point of contact for wine-related inquiries, resolving guest concerns and ensuring utmost satisfaction. * Collaborate with the culinary team to suggest wine pairings that elevate the dining experience. Staff Management and Training: * Supervise and mentor a team of servers, ensuring they are well-versed in wine knowledge and service standards. * Conduct regular staff evaluations and provide constructive feedback for their professional growth. * Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, motivation, and continuous improvement. Operational Excellence: * Collaborate with the restaurant management team to optimize operational efficiency and enhance guest experience. * Monitor and maintain quality control measures to ensure the proper handling, serving, and preservation of wines. * Assist in developing and implementing wine-related promotional activities and marketing strategies. Qualifications: * Proven experience as a Manager/Sommelier in an upscale restaurant or fine dining establishment. * Certified Sommelier accreditation or equivalent wine education is highly desirable. * Deep knowledge of global wines, regions, grape varieties, and wine production. * Strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles and the ability to make informed recommendations. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests. * Excellent leadership abilities and experience in managing and training a team. * Proficient in inventory management, cellar organization, and wine procurement. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. * Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
