Registered Behavior Technician
Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Reports To: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) / Clinical Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one-on-one and group behavioral interventions under the supervision of a BCBA. The RBT is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, collecting accurate behavioral data, and supporting clients in developing communication, social, academic, and life skills in home, school, clinic, or community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement ABA-based treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA
Collect and record accurate data on client progress
Follow established protocols for skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
Assist with functional living, communication, and social skills training
Maintain a positive, supportive environment for clients and families
Communicate effectively with the BCBA, caregivers, and team members regarding client progress
Follow BACB ethical guidelines and organizational policies at all times
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related field (preferred)
Active RBT certification with the BACB
Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities (preferred)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
Physical ability to engage in active play and safely assist clients as needed
