Essential Job Summary:As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a vital role in managing collection activities across various services including commercial, residential, roll-off, and container delivery. Lead a dedicated team of drivers and helpers, working closely with the Operations Hauling Manager to implement initiatives that drive excellence and meet budgetary objectives. You will be key in ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while promoting a culture of employee engagement. Essential Job Functions:Route Planning and Safety AwarenessSupervise Drivers and Helpers. Ensure team preparedness by verifying Driver and Helper compliance with duty, uniforms, and safety equipment. Lead the implementation of safety goals and objectives within the team. Analyze driver routes to identify and improve unsafe conditions in collaboration with sales and dispatch teams. Work with maintenance to ensure compliance and readiness of equipment. Establish and execute robust safety and accident prevention programs to maintain a secure work environment. Conduct regular route observations, offering coaching to drivers on safety while tracking their progress. Encourage a safety-focused culture through personal commitment and active engagement with team members. Monitor telematics to identify unsafe driving behaviors and provide constructive feedback. Carry out vehicle inspections and respond to accidents, performing initial investigations as needed. Assess new service stops for safety compliance. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain accurate route documentation. Customer ExperienceProvide exceptional service that surpasses customer expectations. Understand and work towards goals related to missed pickups. Address service requests promptly and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Engage with customers to resolve issues and enhance their overall experience. Notify concerned parties about changes related to municipal work. Conduct on-site customer visits when required. Represent the Company positively to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty. EfficiencyAssess and optimize route assignments to align with business objectives. Evaluate route performance to ensure timely pickups are executed efficiently. Manage dispatch flow to improve operational efficiency. Oversee employee attendance, punctuality, and performance metrics. Ensure adherence to proper waste management practices. Employee EngagementPromote a collaborative environment and enhance employee engagement. Support team development by mentoring employees toward their career advancement goals. Requirements and Qualifications:3-8 years of experience in waste management operations. 3+ years of supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, or logistics. Experience in route optimization and efficiency improvements is essential. Associate degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of DOT requirements for commercial vehicles. Excellent analytical abilities. Familiarity with PowerBI is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic Excel. Willingness to learn company-specific software applications. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Defensive Driving certification preferred.
