Data Analyst/Data Engineer

Job Type: W2, Contract Key TopicsCore skills: SQL and Python; consolidating and simplifying scripts and data pipelines; improving reusability, data quality, and performance; and designing preventative and detective data-quality controls. Platforms: Databricks is preferred for dataset creation; Snowflake is used for ad hoc analysis. GitHub or similar collaboration tools are also relevant. Project work: Primarily integrating existing data sources into new datasets, rather than building pipelines from scratch. The two hires will work on the same project with similar responsibilities.

Candidate profile: Strong communication and experience working with ambiguous or disparate data are important. Capital One dataset experience is a plus. Data engineers may be considered if they meet the technical requirements; candidates below five years of SQL/Python experience may also be considered if otherwise strong. Interview and screening: One interview round, focused on discussion of technical experience and past work. A Glider test is required for candidates who are not current or former contractors.
