Full-Stack Engineer (Backend)

Overview In this role you will develop scalable backend services and contribute to frontend work to support product experiences. You’ll own features end-to-end from design to deployment, collaborating with design, product, and backend teams. You will work on high-performance systems powering operations and customer-facing features. The role offers a balance of backend focus with a cross-functional frontend component, in a company that values diversity and practical, transparent engineering. You will help shape scalable infrastructure and toolchains that impact thousands of customers. ResponsibilitiesParticipate in all phases of agile software development from design to deploymentBuild and maintain backend services in Python supporting RESTful APIs and event-driven workflowsCollaborate with teams to design scalable, fast, reliable architecturesContribute to frontend work in React, Next.js, and TypeScript as neededResearch and prototype new tools to improve development workflowsDevelop internal tools and integrate with external APIsSupport expansion, testing, and release of products impacting thousands of customers Key requirements3+ years of backend development experienceExperience designing and implementing RESTful APIs; familiarity with microservices and event-driven architectureFluency in PostgreSQL or similar relational databasesStrong testing foundations, including TDD and automated testingExperience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructureFamiliarity with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) and interest in applying them to engineering workWorking knowledge of React, Next.js, and TypeScript with willingness to contribute across the stackProven ability to work independently with strong communication and interpersonal skillsstrong communicationindependent work styleteam collaborationPython backend developmentRESTful API designmicroservices
