TheAdmissions Counselor is an official representative of the university.This individual is involved with recruitment of prospective students bymeans of contact with high school college counselors, college fairs,informational sessions and meeting with prospective parents, students,and others regarding admissions to Marquette. The Admissions Counselorwill be asked to represent Marquette University to prospective parentsand students, answering admissions related phone calls, travel to anassigned domestic territory (to be determined), visiting high schools,community-based organizations, group presentations, attendance aton-campus events, and general participation in counseling activities inthe day-to-day operations of the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Inaddition to the traditional responsibilities, the Admission Counselorwill dedicate time to reviewing freshman applications for admission andresponding to office phone and email inquiries. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Reviewapplications for admission and scholarship decisions; offer or declineapplications based on review by other counselors and a review committeemember. 2. Answer prospective student inquiries (phone and email) andprovide excellent customer service to prospective students and families. Represent the university to prospective students throughout thecountry through off-site recruitment activities (high school visits,college fairs, information nights, interviews). 4. Conductinformational/evaluative interviews with prospective students (freshmanand transfers) and their families who visit the Marquette campus. 5.Increase the quality of university relations with assigned territory\'sarea high schools\' college counseling departments. 6. Represent theuniversity to prospective students at on-site open house programs. 7.Continuous updating of personal knowledge base about the university andits position in the marketplace, especially the university\'s points ofdistinction, as well as those of its competitors. 8. Serve as (orprovide assistance to) the liaison between the admissions office andsome of the university\'s schools, colleges or departments. 9. Mana e orsupport recruitment activities in geographical territories.
